The DNGC Rimfire Match will be held on the 3rd Saturday of every month. This match will be shot on steel or reactive targets with rifle and pistol stages from 10 to 100 yards. We will utilize different shooting positions, shooting behind cover with movement probable during a stage. Stages will be 10 round friendly. Stages will be timed and scored for misses. The purpose of a DNGC Rimfire Match will be to have fun in a friendly family oriented shooting match that will not break the bank.
Our focus will always be SAFETY, FUN, COMPETITION.

Contact Kevin Pagano at 505-382-7907 or e-mail rimfirematch@delnortegunclub.com for more information.

IDPA is a shooting sport that uses practical equipment including full charge service ammunition to solve simulated "real world" self-defense scenarios.

IDPA shooting events require use of practical handguns and holsters that are truly suitable for self-defense use. No "competition only" equipment is permitted in IDPA matches since the main goal is to test the skill and ability of an individual, not his equipment or gamesmanship.

You can't beat IDPA for practice if you are a concealed carry permit holder!

Contact Jerry Weesner at 505-977-0812 or e-mail idpa@delnortegunclub.com for more information.

For matches all shooters are expected to help set up! First time shooters will shoot for free and get free lunch! All members and guests welcome!

Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP)
The Garand-Springfield-Vintage Military (GSM) rifle matches are events developed by the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) to introduce shooters to competitive rifle shooting. They are designed to promote target practice and competition by as many adults and youth as possible. The matches consist of a total of 55 rounds shot from 200 yards: 5 sighters and 20 shots for record fired from the prone position slow, 10 fired from prone rapid, 10 fired from sitting rapid, and 10 fired slow from standing.

F-Class
In F-Class there are two shooting categories, Open and F/TR. in Open class, in addition to a scope and rest you are also allowed to shoot most any caliber you want. In open class shooting with a tripod front rest and a rear bag is allowed as well. The other category in F-class is for F/TR. F/TR rules at this years national championship, are: 308/223 only, weight limit of 18.15 lbs. (includes anything attached to the rifle), shot off a bi-pod (no rail gun or return to battery set up). Of course this is relatively new and some changes and or additions are likely when the new rules come out.

Tactical competitors can tune up by shooting F-Class, in fact law enforcement or other "designated marksman" are encouraged to participate.Benchrest wind flags are not allowed so reading mirage, hold off and other real world tactical considerations come into play. Each individual shot is scored so you cannot just machine gun off your rounds when a favorable condition presents itself. Those with physical limitations often find that shooting prone from a bi-pod or rest extends their ability to shoot and compete.

Have fun and pay attention to that wind!

High Power
Course of Fire:
80 Shot Regional Course
Stage Distance Type of Fire Firing Position Number of Shots Time Limit Target
First 200 Yards Slow Standing 20 20 Minutes SR

Fourth 600 Yards Slow Prone 20 20 minutes MR-1

In slow-fire, shooters must load and fire only one round at a time. 2 Sighting shots are fired before the start of each stage and may be fired in any position. A support or supported position may be used. Sighting shots are not counted in the match score. 2 minutes are allowed at each stage for the sighters.

In slow-fire, shooters will be given a combuned time limit of 22 minutes to fire two sighting shot and 20 record shots.

In rapid-fire, two sets of 10 rounds are fired for a total of 20 shots. Each set begins with the shooters in the standing position. They are commanded to load two or five rounds. After targets come up, they must get into the firing position, fire two or five shots, reload the magazine and fire the remaining eight or five shots.

Match Rules: "NRA High Power Rules" will govern the conduct of the matches and are incorporated by reference. "NRA High Power Rules" are available at this website: http://www.nrahq.org/compete/targetsbooks.asp

Saftey is the First and Most Important Rule

Members may use the range from sunup to sundown every day of the year except for Wednesday mornings. To avoid possible accidents, member keycards are set to NOT OPEN THE GATE from dusk Tuesday through noon Wednesday.

Please take your trash when you are leaving, pick up your brass and help keep DNGC clean.

One of the major issues in obtaining the "special use" zoning for the new facility was safety. We showed that our new recreational shooting facility will be built to the highest standards of safety and that we will institute rules and procedures for safe use of the ranges.
Safety First - If a RED Flag is NOT being flown at the entrance gate, there will be NO LIVE FIRE anywhere on the facility.
If the flag is UP, live fire is permitted on approved ranges.

Therefore, anyone found shooting on the property in violation of these rules will be prosecuted for trespass. If it is a current DNGC member, that member will be permanently expelled from the Club.

The entire property is fenced (nearly five miles of fencing). Only Del Norte Gun Club Members and those specifically authorized by the Board have a key to the gate. Any other person who wants to visit the facility will have to be accompanied by a Board member or come as the guest of a club member . Special arrangements can be made for visits.

Contact a Board member if you want to visit the facility, or call Diana at 505-550-5447
