A 12-station Sporting Clays course equipped with the Long Range Smart Key system is available whenever DNGC is open with the exception of the period when the course has been set for scheduled registered shoots. This will usually be 5-6 days prior to the scheduled shoot.

A Skeet and Trap overlay field is also equipped with the Long Range Smart Key System and is available whenever DNGC is open. On most days the scheduled registered sporting clays shoots are held, a 5-stand course that includes 5 to 8 target machines will be operational.

The 5-stand course in the near future will be utilizing the Long Range Smart Key system and available to shoot 7 days a week.

IDPA is a shooting sport that uses practical equipment including full charge service ammunition to solve simulated "real world" self-defense scenarios.

IDPA shooting events require use of practical handguns and holsters that are truly suitable for self-defense use. No "competition only" equipment is permitted in IDPA matches since the main goal is to test the skill and ability of an individual, not his equipment or gamesmanship.

You can't beat IDPA for practice if you are a concealed carry permit holder!

1000 yard range activities are High Power, which includes CMP. Long Range to include Palma and F-class.

Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP)
The Garand-Springfield-Vintage Military (GSM) rifle matches are events developed by the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) to introduce shooters to competitive rifle shooting. They are designed to promote target practice and competition by as many adults and youth as possible. The matches consist of a total of 55 rounds shot from 200 yards: 5 sighters and 20 shots for record fired from the prone position slow, 10 fired from prone rapid, 10 fired from sitting rapid, and 10 fired slow from standing.

F-Class
In F-Class there are two shooting categories, Open and F/TR. in Open class, in addition to a scope and rest you are also allowed to shoot most any caliber you want. In open class shooting with a tripod front rest and a rear bag is allowed as well. The other category in F-class is for F/TR. F/TR rules at this years national championship, are: 308/223 only, weight limit of 18.15 lbs. (includes anything attached to the rifle), shot off a bi-pod (no rail gun or return to battery set up). Of course this is relatively new and some changes and or additions are likely when the new rules come out.

Tactical competitors can tune up by shooting F-Class, in fact law enforcement or other "designated marksman" are encouraged to participate.Benchrest wind flags are not allowed so reading mirage, hold off and other real world tactical considerations come into play. Each individual shot is scored so you cannot just machine gun off your rounds when a favorable condition presents itself. Those with physical limitations often find that shooting prone from a bi-pod or rest extends their ability to shoot and compete.

Have fun and pay attention to that wind!

Members may use the range from sunup to sundown every day of the year except for Wednesday mornings. To avoid possible accidents, member keycards are set to NOT OPEN THE GATE from dusk Tuesday through noon Wednesday.

Please take your trash when you are leaving, pick up your brass and help keep Del Norte Gun Club clean.

One of the major issues in obtaining the "special use" zoning for the new facility was safety. We showed that our new recreational shooting facility will be built to the highest standards of safety and that we will institute rules and procedures for safe use of the ranges.
Safety First - If an orange Flag is NOT being flown at the entrance gate, there will be NO LIVE FIRE anywhere on the facility.
If the flag is UP, live fire is permitted on approved ranges.

Therefore, anyone found shooting on the property in violation of these rules will be prosecuted for trespass. If it is a current Del Norte Gun Club member, that member will be permanently expelled from the Club.

The entire property is fenced (nearly five miles of fencing). Only Del Norte Gun Club Members and those specifically authorized by the Board have a key to the gate. Any other person who wants to visit the facility will have to be accompanied by a Board member or come as the guest of a club member . Special arrangements can be made for visits.

Contact a Board member if you want to visit the facility, or call Deana at 505-550-5447
