No. The Del Norte Gun Club is a 501(c)(4) not-for-profit organization.

There will be an initiation fee of $100. Part of this fee will cover new member orientation and Photo ID badge. The yearly dues are $150 ($100 for members that are 65 years old or older). The first year you join, the dues will be prorated for the number of months available for you to shoot that year. Subsequently, the dues will cover membership from January 1 to December 31.

All potential members must attend the New Member Orientation Class.

Proof of affiliation in the accredited organization/group must be submitted with each annual membership renewal in order to receive the corporate discount.

Continuous membership is required to maintain corporate membership discount.

The spouse or dependent child (18 to 20 years old) of a Full Member who lives in the same household as the Full Member may become an Associate Member. The fee for an Associate Member sponsored by a new Full Member is $10.

Dependents who are under 18 years old are considered too young to use the range unsupervised. Therefore, they can not become Associate Members, and they must be accompanied and personally supervised by the Full Member. Only two children can use the firing line at a time, but if a Full Member has more than two children under 18 he/she can rotate them to the firing line two-at-a-time.

All new associate members, whether sponsored by a charter member or new member must attend the new member orientation course and pay $17 for the NRA First Steps manual. The associate then gets his/her own photo ID badge and two guest badges, and keys to the gate and clubhouse. The associate can visit the range alone, that means it is not necessary that he/she be accompanied by the sponsoring full member.

The exact amount of membership fees is determined according to the costs of running the gun club and maintaining the ranges to the highest quality safety standards.

The one-time initiation fee covers the cost of an initial training session.

Each new member will have to attend an orientation class consisting of:
(1) A full description of the range and range rules,
(2) An introductory firearms course taught by NRA certified instructors which will include a live fire segment, and
(3) The issuance of a photo ID and two guest passes.

As a result of having passed the introductory firearms course, the club will have a record showing that all members understand the use of firearms and firearms safety. Because all members will be certified, a member can go to the range anytime from sunup to sundown, any day of the year, even if no range officers are present.

Yes. The orientation class is open to individuals who want the NRA First Steps pistol training with live fire but do not intend to join the club at this time. See Training Available to Non-Members for more information.

Each member is issued a photo ID and an electronic card, which will be used to open the front gate and the club house.

Each member will also be issued two visitor passes that are keyed to his/her ID number. A member may bring two shooting guests provided they are under the member's direct supervision. This means that guests must shoot on the same range in the presence of the member.

In regards to posting the club meeting place and time, when people become members they are given this information in person. In this way we can limit meetings to members-only.

In addition, we do not wish meeting minutes to be publicly accessible. We also want to limit access to this information to members-only.

One possibility is to have a "Members-Only" area on the website that would require an authenticated login for access. We discussed this and have done some research, however, it has not been implemented at this time.

See the Driving Directions page. Contact a Board member if you want to visit the range, or call Deana at 505-550-5447
