Safety is the First and Most Important Rule
Rifles will not be brought to the line until the Range Safety Officer (RSO) receives word the pits are sealed and announces to the competitors rifles may be brought to the line. All other equipment may be brought to the line and made ready for the match. |
No rifle handling is allowed prior to the announcement by the RSO to bring rifles to the line. |
When bringing rifles to the line: |
No further rifle handling is allowed until the RSO declares the preparation period begins. |
When cease fire is declared, competitors will assure rifles are made safe: |
No further rifle handling is allowed until authorized by the RSO. |
As competitors complete firing for the entire match, they may make their rifles safe by clearing the rifle of ammunition, removing magazines, inserting the ECI, moving the safety to "Safe", and remove the rifle from the line with the muzzle pointed straight up. |
Competitors are responsible for declaring “Cease Fire” if they observe any unsafe condition on the range. |
Once the pit has been declared sealed, nobody may leave the pit until the pit is unsealed. |
The pit will not be unsealed until the RSO declares the line safe and authorizes the pit to be unsealed. |
Competitors must follow all instructions from the RSO. The RSO may remove any competitor from the range for failure to follow instructions or for violation of safety rules. |
Competitors are responsible for knowing the match program. |
