HIGH POWER

Rifles will not be brought to the line until the Range Safety Officer (RSO) receives word the pits are sealed and announces to the competitors rifles may be brought to the line. All other equipment may be brought to the line and made ready for the match.

No rifle handling is allowed prior to the announcement by the RSO to bring rifles to the line.

When bringing rifles to the line:

As competitors complete firing for the entire match, they may make their rifles safe by clearing the rifle of ammunition, removing magazines, inserting the ECI, moving the safety to "Safe", and remove the rifle from the line with the muzzle pointed shaight up. Competitors are responsible for declaring "Cease Fire" if they observe any unsafe condition on the range.

Once the pit has been declared sealed, nobody may leave the pit until the pit is unsealed- The pit will not be unsealed until the RSO declares the line safe and authorizes the pit to be unsealed.

Competitors must follow all instructions from the RSO. The RSO may remove any competitor from the range for failure to follow instructions or for violation of safety rules. Competitors are responsible for knowing the match program.

Ammunition: Competitors will provide their own safe ammunition. 88 rounds are needed to complete the match.

Rifles: Competitors may use any rifle capable of safely completing the course of fire. Types of rifles and sights will not be restricted. However, awards and recognition will only be made to those competitors using rifles meeting eligibility under "NRA High Power Rules".

Empty Chamber Indicator: Empty Chamber Indicators are required and MUST be used at all times except during the preparation time and firing. ECI's will be available for purchase from DNGC. If you do not have an ECI, please request one before match begins.

Scoring and Target Service: Competitors will perform pit duties and scoring. Please bring a spotting scope or a good pair of binoculars to score competitors from the firing line.

If a competitor is unable to pull targets due to a handicap, please let the match director know before the match begins.

Match Range Commands: Range commands on the firing line and in the pits will be similar to the commands prescribed by NRA High Power Rifle rules. "NRA High Power Rules" are available at this website: http://www.nrahq.org/compete/targetsbooks.asp
