Location:
Del Norte Gun Club 1000-Yard Range, Rio Rancho, New Mexico, USA

Match Format:

General Information:
Please bring your NRA classification card or designated DNGC 600 or 1000 yard pin for club qualified shooters. We encourage and support ALL new long-range shooters. Please come support us. For those club members not pre-qualified and interested in joining the long-range matches please contact Bill Last, walast@Q.com for upcoming qualification courses. Guests are invited to attend. New shooters may be paired with experienced shooters the first few times to improve the learning curve of target scoring, scope adjusting, and general F-Class format etc.

RSVP required for ALL guest shooters (Non-DNGC members) This is to allow arrangements for the front gate to be opened for entrance and re-opened for exit. RSVP recommended for club members also planning to attend. RSVP's are helpful for Match Director to have enough target faces and target sizes available.

Please email us at fclass@delnortegunclub.com

Entries and Deadlines:
It is recommended that all entries get sent to . Advance entry allows better coordination and preparation of the match, as well as, early squadding. Late entries will be accepted the day of the match.

Match Fees:
Individual entry fee is: $5.00.

Rules:
The practice match will be held using NRA rules. The rulebook for Fullbore Rifle will be observed and is available on the Internet at: http://www.nrahq.org/compet/rules/fullbore_07.pdf If enough interest is generated, a copy of NRA High Power Rifle Rulebooks may be available for purchase from DNGC. Please ask Match Director for more information.

All safety rules are primary and must be adhered, Mother Nature is also in play here: Wind conditions exceeding 25mph pose safety problems for people in the "pits." Rain and other climate conditions may also cause the match to be stopped. We will addresses these issues as they occur.

Competitor Eligibility:
This competition is open to all individuals. DNGC and NRA membership is recommended, but not required. Non-classed members may be observed at the match for recommendation of a designated DNGC pin. Strict guidelines will dictate if a shooter is qualified. For safety reasons, if a competitor is having problems keeping ALL bullets in the target and berm, he/she may be asked to cease-fire to re-evaluate their load at another time.

It is recommended that all new shooters interested in long-range shooting first attend a match in order to observe, & ask as many questions he/she might have. It is also good to see what types of equipment requirements are used for long-range and follow up with a DNGC long-range qualification course. For more information on qualification courses, please contact Bill Last.

Ammunition:
Individuals must provide their own ammunition. All ammunition is subject to testing. 60 rounds of ammunition are usually sufficient. Please have good elevation and wind "zeros." Come prepared with a known bullet drop table for your gun and load. The bullet trajectory table for DNGC should be calculated for an altitude of 6600'.

Please refer to http://www.eskimo.com/~jbm/calculations/traj_basic/traj_basic.html for basic computation of trajectory tables.

Rifles:

Target Service:
Competitors will be required to pull/mark their own targets. If a competitor is unable to pull targets due to a handicap, please let the match director know before match begins.

Empty Chamber Indicator:
Empty Chamber Indicators are required and MUST be used at all times except during the preparation time and firing. ECI's will be available for purchase from DNGC. If you do not have an ECI, please request one before match begins.

Squadding:
Special provisions shall be made for competitors who enter the match as a handicapped competitor. We will also make every attempt to accommodate competitors who are sharing rides and/or equipment as long as it does not interfere with the running of the match.

Scoring:
All competitors will score. Any competitor failing to perform his/her scoring duties may be disqualified. Please bring a spotting scope or a good pair of binoculars to score competitors from the firing line. This match will be using the 14.18 (b) NRA accepted alternate scoring system. It is a simple way to score the target, yet if you are unfamiliar with this way of scoring please ask questions before match begins for clarification on how targets are scored.

Targets:
F-Class, MR-Target. Palma, NRA LR or equivalent target/center depending on what is available.

Awards:
No awards will be given for a "practice" match.
