The Rio Rancho Regulators, affiliated with the international Single-Action Shooting Society, shoots at Del Norte on the first and fourth Saturdays of each month in the Cowboy Action Bays on the eastern-most part of the Range.
Just follow the signs.

The club follows SASS safety rules, but does not require -- though encourages -- shooters to dress in period clothes. Qualified firearms are required, but beginners can use the club's set of .22 caliber firearms to see how they like the sport.

Shoots, beginning with setup at 10 a.m., usually consist of four to six stages, each stage requiring shooters to fire typically 10 rounds from two single action revolvers, 10 rounds from a pistol-caliber lever action rifle and four or more rounds from a side-by-side or Winchester '97 shotgun. Scoring is based on shooting the correct sequence of steel targets against the clock, with penalties for each miss as well as for shooting the targets out of sequence.

Generally, pistol calibers and firearm models (or reproductions) in use prior to 1898 qualify for use in SASS-sanctionsed and Regulators' shoots.

First-time shooters are encouraged to try the sport at no charge. Shooting fees are nominal and can be as low as $4 per shoot, if the shooter is both a member of the range and the Regulators.

Regulators' membership currently is $30 per person. Youth shooters shoot free and families are strongly supported. Lunch usually is served at a cost of $3 per person.
